Can You Believe It?

It's raining today. How nuts is that? We went from can't-stand-it-hot to mid-70's and rainy overnight. This summer's weather has been stranger than strange.

Thursday night the boys & I were just miserable sleeping. We knew it was only going to get worse, so we spent most of the weekend away from here. We helped Michael pack a lot, and then all of us spent the night at Craig & Vickie's on Friday and Saturday. Whew! What a relief! I just love them ... they're so sweet and so giving. And they love to dote on the boys.

Michael & I went out to dinner and a movie Saturday night. We had a great time, but don't even ask what we saw. We were totally disappointed with the movie itself, aside from a couple of funny parts. That was the first time in a long time we've been able to go to the movies, so it had been a while since we'd seen any movie trailers. Let's just say that after seeing the previews, there was not one single movie that we want to see in the near future. Who in the world is making these horrible movies?? We decided that the theme of all the new movies is either "death, ghosts and/or Satan" or "utterly stupid". Pretty pathetic. Not even a good chick-flick looming on the horizon.

Sunday's church service was really awesome. Michael & I felt like much of it spoke directly to our situations. At the end of the worship time, there was a song that prompted Dave to have all of us put our hands on what needs healing in our lives (finances, health, businesses, relationships, etc.) and then sing believing that Jesus is the Great Healer. With both mine & Michael's wallets in my purse, he & I just grabbed that and set it on our laps with our hands over it together. It was a really sweet worship time together. And the rest of the service prompted us to allow God to use what we have right now for others. There are ways to get creative with that. No need to wait until we have the means to give monetarily in the ways we have dreams of. We can start now in different ways.

It was a wonderful weekend for all of us ... and even moreso for me because of an unexpected email from a "new/old" friend who shared some things with me that took our friendship to another level. She really made my day. Thank you again, Diane!

I've had some verses roaming around in my head for the past week or so. One is from the story of Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego where they tell the king, "If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us ... But even if He does not, ..." The second one is from Job when he first loses everything and his reaction is to say, "The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord."

I want those verses to reflect my attitude as I continue to search for clients and/or for a job.
